New Paltz has been an active participant in international education for over 100 years and has achieved national recognition for their special approaches to international education. Today, New Paltz leads in attracting international students, with more than 400 students from over 40 foreign countries enrolled. Students are able to choose from nearly 100 undergraduate and 50 graduate programs. The Haggerty Institute of English-as-a-Second Language offers both extended and intensive training to students in need of English tutorials.

The university has seven year  Osteopathic Medicine program, and seven year Optometry program for which students  who have completed 12th standard are eligible. The State University of New York at New Paltz has several important advantages:

ACCREDITATION

New Paltz is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. In addition, certain programs carry professional accreditation: Art, Education, Nursing, Communication Disorders, Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Music, Music Therapy, Theatre.

LOCATION

The town of New Paltz is 95 miles north of New York City, easily accessible by bus or private car. The campus is within walking distance of stores, cinemas, banks and restaurants.

CAMPUS

A spacious campus of rolling fields, woods and ponds, located on 318 acres, contains 52 major buildings with special facilities to support the academic work of students and faculty.
