MARIETTA COLLEGE Marietta is designated one of America's "Revolutionary Colleges," those thirty-seven institutions with their beginning in the 18th Century. Founded in 1797, the College quickly established itself as a college of distinction. In 1860, Marietta became the 16th college to be awarded a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the world's oldest and most respected honorary society. Only 7% of the nation's colleges and universities have earned Phi Beta Kappa distinction. Marietta's academic excellence is recognized today in such publications as Peterson's Competitive Colleges, Barrons' Best Buys in Education, and US News' annual issue, "America's Best Colleges." The college has agreed to give $ 8,000 per annum scholarship to INDUS students. A special feature of the college is that it is one of the few colleges in the world that offer a bachelor’s program in Petroleum Engineering which has excellent demand in the job market.
