HAMLINE UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF LAW Hamline University School of Law offers a graduate program leading to a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree for lawyers who hold a basic law degree such as B.L. or LL.B. from another country. This program provides a select group of highly qualified individuals with the opportunity to pursue advanced, graduate-level studies and research. Hamline offers two programs. Lawyers may pursue an LL.M. with Specialization in Dispute Resolution or an LL.M. individualized to the lawyer's interest. Within the general LL.M. program, students may concentrate their studies on International Law, Intellectual Property, International Human Rights, and Business Law or individualize coursework to achieve the student's individual research interest. Most of the coursework is done in classes combining Hamline J.D. students side-by-side with international LL.M. attorneys. Students benefit from the interaction between international graduate students and Hamline J.D. students. The LL.M. course of study builds on Hamline University School of Law's international studies programs and involvement by faculty in international legal issues (e.g., trade, human rights, law revision, and constitutional reform), as well as its nationally ranked Dispute Resolution Institute. Limited enrollment and individualized counseling by members of the faculty and staff will tailor the program to the needs and objectives of each individual. All applicants to the LL.M.
