CALIFORNIA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY California International University (CIU) was established in 1973 as a liberal arts university for international students. Since that time, the University has provided international students with instruction in English and degree programs in business management and international business. Situated in Los Angeles, CIU is an ideal location for students of international business. Los Angeles is one of the world's great marketplaces and lies in the center of one of the world's dynamic economies. Although many languages are used in the city, English remains the common language for business. California International University has maintained its excellent English Language Center for the purpose of developing the international student's English language skills. Since 1994, CIU has been licensed to operate as a degree-granting institution by the State of California's Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education. BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN BUSINESS MANAGEMENT The purpose of the undergraduate program at California International University is to facilitate students' efforts to develop themselves through learning as well as to function successfully in their professional fields of business after graduation. Tuition for the Bachelor's Program is $1,400 per academic quarter, or around $4,200 for an academic year (three quarters). Full tuition scholarships are available for those with a TOEFL score of 540 or above. MASTER OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS The Master of Science in International Business is a specialized program designed to provide international students with an advanced degree in International Business. Tuition for the Master's program is $1,400 per academic quarter, or about $4,200 for an academic year (three quarters). Full tuition scholarships are available for those with a TOEFL score of 560 or above. SCHOLARSHIP An applicant for the Master's program with a TOEFL score of 560 or better or an applicant for the Bachelor's program with a TOEFL score of 540 or better may apply for a full-tuition scholarship for his or her first quarter of study. Alternatively, an applicant with an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) overall band score of 6.0 or above may apply for a full-tuition scholarship for his or her first quarter of study. As long as the student who has initially been issued a scholarship maintains the required grade point average (3.6/4), he or she will be allowed to keep the scholarship in subsequent quarters.
